Combustion and Thermal Properties of Flame Retardant Polyurethane Foam With Ammonium Polyphosphate Synergized by Phosphomolybdic Acid

نویسندگان

چکیده

Phosphomolybdic acid (PMA) as a synergist was added into polyurethane (PU) rigid foam with ammonium polyphosphate (APP) to improve its flame retardancy and thermal stability. The combustion performance of PU studied by limiting oxygen index (LOI), UL-94, cone calorimeter. degradation behavior determined thermogravimetric analysis (TG) infrared spectroscopy (TG-IR). Experimental results showed that the introduction PMA could further retardant PU/APP composites significantly increase amount carbon residue at high temperatures. Adding 3wt% containing 12wt% APP make pass UL-94 V-0, 800°C 69.16% in air atmosphere, decrease THR 24.62% compared those PU/15APP. TG-IR presence reduced production small-molecule gas-phase products. As for mechanical properties composites, addition influences their density compressive strength obviously. suggest have good synergistic on can reduce fire risk.

Ammonium Polyphosphate/Melamine Cyanurate Synergetic Flame Retardant System for Use in Papermaking

A new synergetic flame retardant system (SFRS) using ammonium polyphosphate/melamine cyanurate (APP/MCA) core-shell particle was synthesized and applied to papermaking. Cationic polyacrylamide (CPAM) was added to improve the adsorption of SFRS in pulp. Higher amounts of SFRS led to higher adsorption by pulp. Handsheets were produced with different amounts of SFRS. Thermal gravimetric analysis (...

Electrospun core-shell microfiber separator with thermal-triggered flame-retardant properties for lithium-ion batteries

Although the energy densities of batteries continue to increase, safety problems (for example, fires and explosions) associated with the use of highly flammable liquid organic electrolytes remain a big issue, significantly hindering further practical applications of the next generation of high-energy batteries. We have fabricated a novel "smart" nonwoven electrospun separator with thermal-trigg...

Nonlinear Optical Properties of Rigid Polyurethane Foam/SiO2 Nanocomposite

Polyurethane closed cell (PUCC)/SiO2 nanocomposites have been prepared by using in situ polymerization approach. The third-order optical nonlinearities of PUCC/SiO2 nanocomposites, dissolved in DMF are characterized by Z-scan technique at the measurement wavelength of 532 nm. The nonlinear refractive (NLR) indices and nonlinear absorption (NLA) coefficients of samples were calculated from close...

Preparation and properties of superfine Mg(OH)2 flame retardant

Preparation of superfine magnesium hydroxide with the bittern and ammonia was studied. The properties of the products were analyzed by laser granularity, X-ray diffraction, scanning electron microscope, the limiting oxygen index and the wet t ing angle measurements . The results show that the mean particle size of the magnesium hydroxide is about 230 nm with a platelet shape and the specific su...

Hypophosphite/Graphitic Carbon Nitride Hybrids: Preparation and Flame-Retardant Application in Thermoplastic Polyurethane

A series of aluminum hypophosphite (AHPi)/graphite-like carbon nitride (g-C₃N₄) (designated as CAHPi) hybrids were prepared, followed by incorporation into thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU). The introduction of CAHPi hybrids into TPU led to a marked reduction in the peak of the heat release rate (pHRR), total heat release, weight loss rate, smoke production rate and total smoke production (TSP)....
